Officer & Project Associate
CEE Himalaya (www.ceehimalaya.org)
is an eco-system focused initiative of the Centre for Environment
Education (www.ceeindia.org). It supports and promotes the quest for
sustainable development in mountain regions through environmental
education and communication interventions. After the devastating
earthquake of October 8, 2005 CEE Himalaya has taken up a rehabilitation
programme ‘Rebuilding Trust’ for the earthquake-affected people of
Kashmir. The interventions are focussed on shelter, education, drinking
water supply, psycho-social care, livelihood support and civil society
development. CEE also works with the State Departments of Education
facilitating text book development, orientation and training of teachers
and resource persons through its ‘Strengthening Environmental Education
in School System’ (StrEESS) project.
The Centre requires one
Project Officer and one Project Associate. The job
responsibilities include implementing projects in the field, compiling
data, writing reports and project proposals, developing education &
communication materials; conducting awareness & education programmes.
Both the positions are project appointments initially for one year, but
likely to be continued. The place of posting for Project Office will be
in Baramulla, Kashmir and for Project Associate in Lucknow. Both
positions involve extensive travelling.
Qualification:
First class Master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline for Project
Associate and additional 3 years relevant experience for Project
Officer. Understanding of disaster management, environment and
development issues; good writing and speaking in English, Urdu & Hindi
languages; good skills in computer, organizing data, writing reports and
projects will be an advantage.
Salary:
Upto Rs. 8,000 per month consolidated commensurate with
qualifications and experience for Project Associate and upto Rs. 15,000
for Project Officer.
